"Of all the artist mediums I have worked with, photography is unique in that it allows me the avenue of recording unplanned images that have somehow caught my attention due to their unique lighting or design. In general, I tend to see the things I photograph as lifeforms whether they are living or inanimate and, most often, I am attracted to a silent quality woven into the imagery. Lighting is significant as it can bring honor, drama or elegance to the most common object or scene. If I were ever to be mildly successful in this medium, I would be able to expand the restrictions of photography to incorporate the sounds, temperature, scent and whatever emotional attachment embraced the image that day. If those images can also stimulate the imagination or invoke a sensory recall for the viewer, then perhaps I will have moved my photographs a bit beyond the paper they are printed on. Above all, I realize that I have done little but record a small number of interesting images that were not created by me, but are presented on any given day, I think, in this very world we live in—even for only a short time. Nonetheless, in this exhibit, I hope that I am able to provide a level of curiosity, fascination or joy when viewing an image or two.
